Modern
Modern is an expressive style of dance that challenges the structured dance technique of classical ballet. This style can be characterized by breath, body articulation, and floor work, and can follow a style developed by artists such as Martha Graham, Isadora Duncan, Merce Cunningham and Alvin Ailey.

Our year long curriculum is based on a 34-week season, which includes class instruction, dress rehearsal time, and picture day. Season 12 begins on Friday, September 6th, 2024.
Modern Dress Code:
Dancers should wear any color leotard or footless or convertible tights, ballet skirt and spandex shorts are optional. Form-fitting shirts are okay, but should cover torso entirely and not be played with or adjusted during class. Modern dance class is done barefoot. Boys should wear black leggings, jazz pants, or spandex dance shorts with a white or plain black or TTL t-shirt that is not too loose. Long hair should be securely tied back.
